Dropbox at hand? – Cista storage

Reliable file storage and sharing is a surprisingly awkward problem for small and medium-sized companies. Files need to be available outside the office, protected from individual computers failing, searchable, easy to preview and accessible from different devices. The usual answer is a subscription to Dropbox, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Nextcloud.

We develop Cista, an open-source file storage system designed specifically for this job. It can run on your own server or infrastructure, or we can host and maintain it for you.

Our hosted service starts at 10 € monthly. Pricing depends on the amount of storage required, not on the number of users. A company with 20 employees does not need 20 storage subscriptions simply because 20 people need access, like you might’ve seen our competitors charge you.

Cista provides a browser-based file manager with instant search, document and media previews, usable on desktop and mobile so it is always at your hand. Office, PDFs, photos and video previews are shown directly while browsing.

There is no requirement to place company data on infrastructure controlled by us.
